This thumbnail sketch is an attempt to streamline Hawaii's history into some 8000 words. Few names or dates are used and mental excursions down tempting historical byways are largely avoided. Some have falsely suggested this is a rash attempt to capture the depth of Hawaiian culture. This brief work can provide the reader with an excellent foundation for future adventures.
